The Caithness sea cliffs never cease to amaze me. Whether walking along the top, climbing up the face, or kayaking below them, they are big and imposing. This particular day was shared with friends. The weather was gloomy, atmospheric, dramatic, as if to match the landscape around us. But as the day went on it brightened. This painting aims to capture the light coming through in this moment and the happiness that I feel being by the sea! If you look closely you can see some of us stood on top the arch.
