My mum climbed this mountain when she was about 7 months pregnant with me, and as a result I was nearly called Pollaidh. Despite not being named after the mountain in the end, it always feels like a special place to be. It isn’t the biggest mountain Scotland has to offer but it is dramatic, and fun. I love the sculptural nature of the rocks that form it and especially the two depicted in this painting, that look as if they’re about to kiss.
