This painting composition came almost by accident when I was out for a run in North Wales. I spent some time living and working at Plas y Brenin (The National Outdoor Centre for England and Wales) and during my time there I got out to explore as much as I could. North Wales felt like a miniature Highland landscape, condensed into a fun-sized playpark. On this winters day there were no views from the summit of Moel Siabod, but as I ran down this ridgeline I was treated to a breathtaking view of the Snowdon Horseshoe. I was drawn to the old rickety fence and felt it was an important feature to that less well trod location.
