Robin Hood's Stride - Peak District

from £40.00

Giclée fine art print of original acrylic on board painting ‘Robin Hood’s Stride’ by Bethan Nadin. Robin Hood's Stride is a rock formation on the Limestone Way in Derbyshire. The closest town is Bakewell, which is to the North. Having spent my early years living in the Peak District I had painted Robin Hood’s Stride as a kid. Having now returned to the area after 15 years living in the Highlands it has been interesting for me to re-visit the places I remember so well. An attempt at capturing some nostalgia in this painting, as well as having an interest in climbing and the outdoors, which possibly stemmed from my Peak District roots. In trying to re-capture the view I painted when I was 8 years old, I discovered that the trees had become so overgrown that I could no longer see the rocks from the exact spot I painted before. I therefore chose a slightly different spot, but still pretty close.
