To capture or create this composition, without making up the landscape, several trips to Glen Loth were taken. Firstly to sketch the area, explore, find the angle or spot I wanted to paint from. Following a couple of these journeys, one in bad weather, one in good weather, I then needed to find a good time to capture it in a good light; when the snow was on the hills and in the stunning winter light. As the river was quite full, and very cold, a ladder was required to get across, and also to stand on to fit everything in to the view. After a few photos were taken, this was then refined again in sketching, before committing to the canvas.

Please note that all A sizes refer to the paper size. The image will have a white border to allow for mounting and framing.
